Brandon school celebrates student achievements

A school in Brandon has celebrated the achievements of its students as they arrived to collect their GCSE results today.

IES Breckland, on Crown Street, has noted some outstanding individual performances today. They include:

  • Two students averaged a grade 8-9 across all subjects
  • Five students averaged a grade 7-8 across all subjects
  • Ten students averaged a grade 6-7 across all subjects

Jon Win, principal at IES Breckland, said: “Today’s GCSE results are a testament to the hard work and perseverance of our Year 11 students over many years. Everyone at IES Breckland is extremely proud of everything they have achieved in this most difficult of years and delighted that they are now able to begin the next stage of their education.

“We will not be publicly reporting any form of school performance measures regarding this year’s results. Our focus is solely on celebrating the achievements of our students and wishing them all the very best with their futures.

“I would like to thank the school staff for their hard work and commitment; this has been a key component in the high standards achieved by our students.”
