Residents in Brandon got a shock this evening after a loud bang was heard at around 8.30pm in the area near Brandon Country Park.
Power was knocked out across the town for a few seconds after a tree came down onto power lines behind Walton Way.
Those living nearby reported hearing a thunder-like sound just before the power flickered.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews from Brandon were mobilised to the scene at 8.28pm this evening, Saturday 29th August, after receiving a call to a trees on fire.
No fire was discovered on their arrival however they requested the attendance of UK Power Networks after finding the fallen tree on the power lines.
UK Power Networks are now on scene and dealing with the incident.
