Man charged after criminal damage incident at motel

A 30 year old man has been charged with criminal damage and assaulting two police officers following an incident in Brandon.

Police were called to the Valbri Motel on London Road just after 11.30pm on Tuesday 20th October after reports that a door to a room had been kicked and damaged.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: “Officers attended the scene and at around midnight arrested a man from Norwich on suspicion of criminal damage.

“Whilst conveying the suspect to custody, two police officers were spat at and kicked and damage was also caused to a police vehicle.

“The suspect was further arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault on an emergency worker and criminal damage to a vehicle.”

Lee Emery, of William Kett Close, Norwich, has subsequently been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and two counts of criminal damage.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 22nd October.
