A number of homes in Brandon have been left flooded after a water main burst in the town earlier this morning.

Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service responded to the incident on Heath Road at 4.58am today, Friday 13th November.

One crew from Brandon worked to divert water away from nearby houses while Anglian Water isolated the water supply to prevent further flooding.

Several properties across the town were also left without water, or experienced low water pressure, as a result of the incident.

Water was restored to most homes by 8am with Anglian Water still on site and continuing to repair the burst water main.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “Our teams are currently working to repair a burst water main on Heath Road, in Brandon.

“Unfortunately, a small number of properties have been flooded, however our teams are on site dealing with this.

“We would like to apologise for any issues this has caused, and would like to reassure our customers that we will be correcting any damage that has occurred.

“Our teams are working as quickly and safely as possible to get things back to normal.”
