Cordons lifted at park as witness appeal continues

Police cordons at Brandon Country Park have now been lifted with detectives making a new appeal for anyone who may have important dashcam footage to come forward.

Officers were called by the ambulance service shortly before 7am on Friday 9th April, following reports that the body of a woman had been found in a pond at Brandon Country Park.

Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has been identified as Egle Vengaliene, aged 35, of Bury Road in Brandon.

Andrius Vengalis, of Bury Road, Brandon, was arrested in connection with the incident on Friday afternoon and subsequently charged with murder on Monday evening, 12th April.

Vengalis appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Tuesday 13th April, where he was committed to appear before Ipswich Crown Court later the same day. He was remanded in custody pending a next crown court appearance on Monday 19th July.
